Shiloh, written by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor, is a story about a boy(Marty) who finds a dog and tries to hide it from his mean, abusive owner. This book teaches compassionate and standing up for what you believe in. This book is appropriate for third grade and above and can be used in an English class. Students can create journal entries as a response from this book.
