Contemporary Realistic Fiction/ Children's Mystery Novel

The Westing Game, by Ellen Raskin won the 1979 Newberry Award. The book is about Samuel Westing, a wealthy industrialist, who dies and leaves his fortune to one of the 16 individuals who work or live in the Sunset Towers. The 16 people are grouped into pairs and must answer the puzzle given the clues/riddles by Westing. The individuals must find who killed Samuel Westing. The book is appropriate for fifth grade and up. I remember reading this book in sixth grade and enjoyed the supsense of finding out who was the murderer! This book could be used in an English Class in discussing and analyzing the different parts of a story: plot, settings, characters, and summary.
